Brodie joined our family nearly 8 years ago and since then he has accumulated more flight miles than most humans will in their life. I am in the Navy so he has had quite the journey from Washington to Italy, Guam, and now Hawaii. Unfortunately He has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his rear legs. Compounding the issue is hip displaysia. He has been a great companion and kept my otherwise out of control stress level to a minimum. He is now in his final stretch of life with us, we have decided to put him down tomorrow, August 17 2010. He spends most days panting in pain and letting out minimal whines as to try not to complain because he is so resilient. He will be sorely missed but he put of the good fight, he was too large to consider amputation and we found the cancer too late.
