Tumors:

This story is about my little Buddy, My purebred male Labrador, Buddy was 2 yrs old. Just after Christmas this year I noticed he had a slight limp in his left shoulder but not bad, and he didn't limp all the time. So O bought him some K9 aspirin from pet smart and followed the directions on the bottle. And they seemed to be helping him. He took them for a month or so, Then all of a sudden he started limping worse and his left shoulder started swelling up, so I then called the vet and made an appointment. We went and he had a few x-rays done. The vet said he had Osteosarcoma and his shoulder bone was deteriorating quickly, and the cancer had already spread to his lungs. He had two tumors in his lungs. The vet said he has 3 to 4 months to live.

At this point my heart was in pieces and was just speechless. The vet wrote him 4 prescriptions: 2 for pain & inflammation and 2 for ulcers the meds can cause. I got them all filled and he took them as directed. Boy he really was in no pain and was like new again. After about a month and a half on the meds he appeared to be in worse pain again. Then on 6-4-08 I let both my dogs out for a run in the morning as I always do. They were out for about 4 hours. It was getting warm out so I let them in and turned the air on. Buddy & Snoop were fine. About 3 hours later I noticed that Buddy was starting to breathe very heavy and he was like in a trance. So I thought he must be in pain & perhaps it was that time to go. So I called the vet and made an appointment to have him put to sleep the following day.

I set up camera and had on video and took a bunch more pictures of him. I tried to love him and gently talk and pet him> But I didn't want him to pick up on my breaking heart so I then gave him some water and he never moved he was for sure going quick. So I then just let him lay there and rest. After about an hour of him breathing heavy, his front paws kinda jumped and his left ear wiggled a little... It was over...Just that quick...My Little buddy was gone...I can only hope he was not in pain, He never made a sound...

There are many other things I would like to post about him, but all I can say is: If anyone has a pet with a limp or something else that's just not right, please don't just get them the K9 aspirins and hope they will help...Please call the vet and get your beloved pet in there to be checked out before it's too late.

Thank You.
